Abstract:

As we navigate the dynamic landscape of testing and educational technology in Asia, the intersections of learning and assessment, psychometrics, and technology become increasingly critical. Cognitive diagnosis modeling offers an alternative framework to traditional high-stakes testing to capitalize on the benefits of the emergence of AI-enabled learning and assessment. It provides a coherent learning and assessment framework for the architectural design of the infrastructure that integrates the online delivery of learning and assessment. Under the new model, technology facilitates efficient content and data utilization to improve both the assessment of learning and personalized learning path. Recent developments and future directions can impact educational equity and participation of students from a much broader spectrum of the society, transforming potentials and aspirations into realities and ushering in a new era of learning and assessment in the region.
